Cascade Mountain – Where kids ski FREE! Cascade Mountain has skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing. 35 trails, 10 lifts and 4 terrain parks!
Base elevation is 820 feet., Peak elevation is 1,280 feet., Vertical drop is 460 feet., There are 160 skiable acres., The average annual snowfall is between 50-56 inches of natural snow a year., We have 100% snowmaking coverage of our trails., There are 10 lifts including a high speed detachable quad chair (the first one in the Midwest), 2 quad chairs, 3 triple chairs, 2 double chairs, one tow rope, and one surface lift., There are 36 trails open to skiing and snowboarding that break down as follows: 38% beginner runs, 24% intermediate runs, and 38% advanced runs., Our Snow Tube Park boasts an impressive 7 tube lanes (7 people can tube at once in separate lanes) and it’s very own Magic Carpet lift to carry snow tubers back to the top of the hill.

The Discover Whitewater Series

The Discover Whitewater Series was initiated by The Greater Whitewater Committee, Inc. The inaugural Discover Whitewater Series Half Marathon, 5K, and Fit Kid Shuffle was held Sunday, September 22nd, 2013. Thanks to the continued support and interest, the second annual Discover Whitewater Series on September 21, 2014 was a great success. In two years The Greater Whitewater Series has been able to distribute over $51,000 to five local organizations in efforts to build a stronger community. This would not have been possible without the 563 participants and 400+ volunteers from 2013 and the 723 participants and 450+ volunteers from 2014.

In addition to a challenging course and a well organized event, all participants receive and have access to: a finisher’s medal, shirt, drawstring tote, a free pre-race dinner provided by Chartwells, a free pancake breakfast provided by of Kiwanis on race day, one free day pass to Whitewater Aquatic Center and discounted day pass prices ($5) and a day care service, Kids Korral, on race day sponsored by the University of Wisconsin Whitewater college of Education and Professional Studies, which provided day care for 32 kids in 2014. Purse prize for top half marathon finishers and age group awards for both the half marathon and the 5K.
